Elizabeth Hayes was born and raised in Pittsburg, Kansas as a creative at heart. Her first experience at the Pittsburg ArtWalk inspired her sense of creativity and community, prompting her to participate as an artist in the following ArtWalk during her senior year of high school. She received her BA of Studio Arts with a Dance Certification from Kansas State University while teaching dance and interning at an art gallery. In May 2019 she moved back to Pittsburg: her favorite small town. She continues to draw when she is not teaching dance as the Director of Y Academy of Dance in Pittsburg, Kansas. Her love of art stems from the sense of community it creates. She keeps the community spirit by also staying involved in Rotary, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Pittsburg Area Young Professionals.
